O ministro da Fazenda, Guido Mantega, anunciou nesta quarta-feira (3) a redução da Contribuição de Intervenção no Domínio Econômico (Cide) a partir da próxima sexta-feira (5) para tentar impedir o aumento de cerca de 4% no preço final da gasolina. A medida, que vale até o dia 30 de abril, custará R$ 91 milhões aos cofres públicos.
A mudança no tributo é uma forma de compensar a recente redução da mistura de álcool na gasolina – a concentração diminuiu de 25% para 20%. "Eu queria anunciar a redução da Cide sobre a gasolina em R$ 0,08 [por litro]. Hoje, a Cide é de R$ 0,23 e nós estamos reduzindo para R$ 0,15", disse o ministro.
Mantega afirmou que a mudança na Cide é uma mudança normal, que já foi adotada em anos anteriores. "Em 2008, quando houve a elevação do preço da gasolina, [e] reduzimos a Cide. Em 2009, foi o contrário", lembrou.
Preços livres
O ministro lembrou, porém, que os postos de combustíveis são livres para determinar o preço cobrado dos consumidores. "O mercado de gasolina é livre. Estamos garantindo o preço estável nos produtores. Espero que os preços sejam mantidos", disse ele. O ministro disse que os consumidores podem verificar os preços antes de abastecer e procurar os mais baratos.
"Mantemos a estabilidade do preço da gasolina. Ficará R$ 0,10 a menos [mais barato] com o ICMS. Com essa mudança, o preço subiria cerca de R$ 0,10. Com o que estamos fazendo [redução da Cide], cairá R$ 0,10 [e o preço ficaria estável nos produtores]", disse Mantega. Segundo o ministro, o ICMS, que é de cerca de R$ 0,025 por litro, está embutido na Cide.
